Parking mirror locations, unsafe?

14 Jul 2010 09:43 AM
Hello.

I am posting because I have been witness to many near collisions in the Montage parking garage, where the parking for my Luna unit is located (and I believe that this is true for many people in Luna who have parking spaces).

A recent note in the lobby accentuated that management is interested in safety issues, so I thought I should point out that the mirrors in the parking lots are not optimally installed.

The mirrors are installed parallel/perpendicular to the laneways in the garage, nearly always on the inside of the turn. This makes it impossible for drivers to use them to see oncoming traffic in advance.

The mirrors should be moved to the outside of each turn, and installed at a 45 degree angle to the laneways for clear visibility even from quite a distance to each intersection.

Hopefully, we can have these mirrors moved, and fix an ongoing safety issue before there is an accident in the underground.

Thanks in advance!
